"Thor" "Thor" is a 4 month old red male puppy. Although he seems to be thinking about serious things I can tell you he is "all puppy" and there is not a serious thought to be found in his little head. He was brought to us by one of our contacts who heard he needed help. Thor was surrendered by his previous owner to a vet for euthanasia because he was paralyzed in both rear legs. The vet didn't have the heart to put him down so quickly and took care of him until she could find help for him. GCDR agreed to have him examined by our vets. In the couple of days that it took to get him to us, Thor was already beginning to use his rear legs and walked under his own steam into our vet's office. He has continued to get better with every passing day. Although Thor's previous owner stated that Thor had not been injured, we noticed that Thor also was malnourished. Therefore, we are not sure if the report of "no injury" was truthful. Thor's xrays and medical records are being reviewed by a leading expert in Doberman back health. Results will be posted soon. We are hopeful that Thor's problems are resolved and that he will go on to live a long and healthy life. Thor also came to us with very short cropped ears that were not entirely standing. We took him to see a vet in New Orleans who specializes in cropped ears. Due to his very young age, she posted his ears and we are hopeful that they will "stand" in a few weeks. |

Scarlet (adopted) & Dixie Scarlet and Dixie are 6 month old red female Doberman puppies. Possibly considered too old to sell - they found themselves surrendered to a local shelter. Together, they are a ball of energy and keep their foster home on its toes to keep up with them. They are very social with other dogs and excited to be around people. They are typical puppies who need the guidance of a good home to help mold them into the incredible dogs they will become. They are up-to-date on shots, heart worm free, microchipped and spayed. At their young age, they could easily learn to live with a kitty. They play well together much of the time but we already see a struggle between them as to who is going to boss who. So we want to see these girls go into separate homes rather than be adopted together to avoid future adult conflict between them. If you are interested in adopting one of these cute little red heads, please fill out an on-line application application.
