Have you seen my girl?

Hi, I am still looking for my girl. Leibchen aka Lei Lei.

Leibchen aka Lei Lei, and her litter of puppies

She was last seen after Hurricane Katrina passed over New Orleans. I was there the day the flood waters covered my neighborhood with 8 feet of water. My daughter Natalie and I climbed on the roof with three dobermans and three cats. We were able to rescue our own cats and only one of the three dobermans ourselves. We went back three weeks later when we
figured out how to sneak in to Gentilly. The National Guard, Army, and Police were not allowing the citizens of New Orleans to come in and rescue their own pets even if they had the means.

I learned that rescue groups were going to New Orleans and taking pets away to places like the Lamar Dixon Center. When I went there one and two weeks after the storm I was not able to find my Dobermans Luger and Leibchen because nice
people like Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue (GCDR) were taking care of that for me. Well thanks to the GCDR Group (Terri, Amy, Cynthia, Julia, etc) I was able to locate my male doberman, Luger.

He was in great shape when I picked him up at All Pets Clinic in Baton Rouge. Thank you all so much for your help.

I am still looking for Leibchen and hope whomever has her is trying to find me, her owner, who can still take great care of her today. She was born in March 2003 and is a Black unaltered female, she had one litter last year. She is rather tall and on the thin side with large floppy ears that are (uncropped) and a rather longish dock tail that is not at all attractive for the doberman breed. Now, perhaps you know someone who can help get her returned to her rightful owner, Carol Charvet, thats me.

She may have been entered into some data bank just like her mate Luger was entered in as an intack male
when he was recently neutered this year so as not to father any more blue pups. Someone apparently took
her from Lamar Dixon or the Winn Dixie and brought her with them out of state or she could be in Baton
Rouge at a doberman kennel who wants to keep her. There is suppose to be a paper trail for all the rescued
dogs, so where in the world is my girl, Lei- Lei. I found her son, Spike, around my house on Dreaux Street.
Luger was found on Baccicchh Street. I live on Demontluzin Street in Gentilly, the bordering streets are
Franklin Avenue, Dreaux, Lafaye, Eads, Peoples and Baccich, etc. The zip code is 70122.
Lei Lie might have been with Luger on Baccich Street and they would have been rescued together. Please
forward this message to anyone you know that may know where she is.
Thanks for all your help.

Good News!!!

Lei Lei has also now been located and re-united with her family.
GCDR would like to thank the nameless rescuers who entered our flooded city and brought out stranded people and pets to safety.  We know that rescuers came from all around the country to help.  They didn't expect thanks or recognition for what they did and most were gone as quietly as they arrived.  We know they were here but we don't know how to thank them.  Hopefully a few of you will see our web site and understand how blessed we were that you came.
