1) 4 weeks old. You should never buy a puppy under 8 weeks. Puppies learn a lot of pack behavior from their mother and littermates until they are 8 weeks. Also, 4 weeks is just the begining of weaning. What are you supposed to feed your puppy? Most likely they are looking for a quick return on investment. Puppies are a LOT of work.

2) Parents on site. That means they own both the male and the female. Probably NOT breeding for the betterment of the breed, but rather profit.

3) No mention of AKC papers or any papers at all.

1) Blue and fawn are a dilution of black and red. They are NOT rare, but most responsible breeders do not breed for these colors. They can be prone to thinning coats and other skin problems. That is not to say you shouldn't consider owning one, but they are NOT rare, nor are they worth more money than the other colors.

2) CKC registered. Sure, the puppies have "papers" but they are not AKC papers. Did you know that the CKC (Continental Kennel Club) is not at all particular about lineage of dogs they register? If it looks like a Dobe, they'll probably give you papers on it.

1) Champion lines. You should research the pedigree to see just exactly WHERE those Champions are and how many are there. True breeders consider "Champion lines" to mean a 5 generation pedigree loaded with Champions. "Champion lines" to some people mean ONE Champion 5 generations back.

2) Hips checked. Just a physical examination by a veterinarian is not enough to diagnose hip dysplasia, unless it is severe. You need to ask for a copy of the OFA (Orthopaedic Foundation for Animals) certificate. OFA means that the hips have been xrayed under anesthesia, the films have been reviewed by board certified radiologists and the dog is given a rating. Excellent, Good and Fair are all considered passing levels. A dog must be over 2 years of age to be OFA'd.

1) Warlock. Borong The Warlock was a top winning male in the 1950's. Today, Warlock is secret code for OVERSIZED. A female doberman should be 24"-26" at the shoulder. A male should be 26"-28" at the shoulder. Dobermans are not meant to be HUGE, nor are they meant to weigh over 100 pounds. When you start making things bigger, you make the lifespan shorter as all of the organs have to work twice as hard.
